About Me
My name is Dan Burgess, and I am the owner and principal attorney of Burgess Law, LLC. I got his start as an attorney at one of Minnesota’s largest law firms, where I developed an expertise in representing individual clients against some of the largest corporations in the world. During that time I saw how the deck is stacked against individual plaintiffs facing down the enormous resources and gargantuan legal teams employed by the corporate behemoths who had harmed them. Since then, I have made it my mission to try to level the playing field through creative trial strategy, smart thinking, and top-flight courtroom advocacy, in order to get my clients the results they deserve.
Since 2017, I have been doing that job at Burgess Law, LLC. In that time I have had the opportunity to try complex civil cases and months-long federal trials. I primarily deal with personal injury and medical malpractice cases, and I enjoy taking tough cases to trial. In each of the past three years, I have been named one of Minnesota’s “Rising Stars” by Super Lawyers, an honor afforded to less than 2.5% of the legal profession.
In my free time, I help coach the mock trial team for Breck High School in Golden Valley, Minnesota, helping to impart the principles of effective advocacy and critical thinking to the next generation. I am also an avid trivia player, and help write and run the monthly “Black Diamond” game for Trivia Mafia.
